Grilled French Bread with House-Made Ricotta, Figs, and a JEM Maple Drizzle

Elevate cocktail hour with these inspired crostini from Let's Pretend Catering that feature

J.E.M. Artisan Maple Syrup.

Recipe from Let's Pretend Catering located in South Hero, VT


Yield: 16 crostinis 


Ingredients: 

1 loaf French bread

1 pint black mission figs

1/4 cup olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper 

drizzle of J.E.M. Artisan Maple Syrup 


Instructions:


Slice thick slices of crusty french bread. Drizzle with Extra Virgin Olive Oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Grill bread until slightly charred 


Top bread with Ricotta*, Sliced Figs, and drizzle with J.E.M. Artisan Maple Syrup 


*House-Made Ricotta Recipe:

Ingredients:

1 gallon whole milk 

2 cup heavy cream

1 tsp salt 

6 tbsp lemon juice 


Stir in lemon juice, reduce heat to low and cook until mixture curdles


Ladle into a cheesecloth (3 layers) lined colander to strain. Strain to desired consistency then transfer to a container and chill until needed
